Beats is a protector of the beautiful city of downtown St. Louis, doing so with the ability to manipulate the power of sound. Her power comes with a catch, Nia herself is Mute. Being Mute she’s learned to heighten her senses, using her powers as an extension of herself.
 
As a protector of the city, she gets along with everyone in the city to the best of her abilities, helping those who are in need of a little pick up, even if she’s just Nia Evans. We will see her encounter how being a hero comes with many complexities, not all of them can be fixed by putting on a uniform.
